umovingu Limited is the company behind the Property Passport and the umovingu platform. We are registered in England and Wales, Company No. 13321548. Our registered address is 116 Yardley Road, Birmingham, B27 6LG.

When this policy refers to “we”, “us” or “umovingu”, it means umovingu Limited. For UK data protection purposes, umovingu Limited is the data controller. Our contact email is hello@umovingu.io. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller. Our ICO registration reference is ZC111880. You can verify our entry on the ICO register or download our ICO registration certificate (PDF).

02  What information we collect

We only collect information necessary for the service we provide.

We do not collect payment card details, health information, or government identity documents at this stage.

03  Our legal basis for using your information

• Contractual necessity — when you sign up for a Property Passport or early access, we process your information to provide the service you asked for.
• Legitimate interests — we analyse how our website is used to improve it. We have balanced this against your privacy rights and believe our interest is reasonable.
• Consent — if you agree to receive marketing emails, we will send them. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe or emailing us.
• Legal obligation — in rare cases we may need to process your information to comply with a legal requirement.

• Respond to your contact form enquiries
• Set up and manage your Property Passport record
• Send you updates about your record, expiring documents or new features, where you have agreed
• Contact you about your Founding 30 application if you have applied
• Improve our website and product using anonymised analytics
• Comply with any legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

06  How long we keep your information

• Contact form enquiries: 2 years in case you get in touch again about the same matter.
• Property Passport records: For as long as your account is active, plus up to 2 years after account closure.
• Marketing preferences: Until you change your preference, so we can respect your wishes.
• Analytics data: Anonymised data retained in line with Google’s standard settings (default 26 months).

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights. Exercise any of them by emailing hello@umovingu.io. We will respond within one month.

• Access — Ask us to confirm what information we hold and receive a copy.
• Rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Erasure — Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
• Restriction — Ask us to pause using your information while you dispute its accuracy.
• Portability — Receive your information in a portable format.
• Object — Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

09  Links and children

Our website contains links to external sites. Once you leave, this privacy policy does not apply. Our service is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it.
